Dennis Bales III, CSSC
Dennis is an Associate with 35 years of insurance, claims and settlement annuity experience. He is in charge of the Palos Verdes, California office. His insurance and claims career began in 1973, and, since 1990, he has concentrated his efforts in the structured settlement field, arranging several thousand settlement annuities throughout the Western U.S.
His major expertise is in personal injury settlements including the areas of complex trusts, Medicare and Medicaid issues, workers’ compensation, FELA and environmental claims.
Other related experience includes the position of Claims Representative with the Automobile Club of Southern California, in Santa Monica, where he was a bodily injury and property damage adjuster. His responsibilities included handling personal injury cases, settlement, and accident investigation, and he was a property damage estimator.
Dennis’ settlement annuity background encompasses positions managing the West Coast regional area offices for three prominent settlement annuity firms. He gained exposure to workers’ comp, personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death and environmental and FELA claims.
In 1994, he received the designation of Certified Structured Settlement Consultant, CSSC, which is granted following successful completion of a course of study established by the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA) and the University of Notre Dame.
Dennis attended the University of Oklahoma, where he was a walk on for the Sooner football team. After an injury, he transferred to Arizona State University and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in General Business Administration.
He is a member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association.
