Aliso Viejo, California, January 21, 2016 – Ringler Associates Incorporated, the nation’s largest structured settlement company, announces that Geoffrey E. Hunt has been elected Chief Executive Officer by the Board of Directors to succeed Robert J. Blattenberg, who is retiring as CEO. The move is part of the leadership succession plan that began when Mr. Hunt was named President of Ringler Associates a year ago. In addition, given Mr. Blattenberg’s previously announced retirement to become effective on March 31, 2016, he has decided to not seek reelection to the Board of Directors allowing for a new outside director to join the Board.
Chairman of the Board, W. Ross Duncan says, “While no amount of praise can define the contributions made by Bob Blattenberg over three decades at Ringler, we’re extremely grateful to Bob as a colleague and friend. As we head into 2016, we’re confident that Geoff will lead the company with an innovative vision for tomorrow, consistent with the succession and strategic plans as orchestrated by our Board of Directors.
“My partnership with Geoff has been operational for the better part of a year and our Associates and industry colleagues have expressed their confidence in his leadership, allowing me to retire as planned,” according to retiring CEO, Bob Blattenberg, who also says, “I will miss all the people at Ringler, some of whom I’ve worked with for over 30 years. When I retire, I’m looking forward to more time for boating with my wife, Cecil.”
According to Geoff Hunt, “Over the past year, serving as President at Ringler, I’ve come to know our people, our clients and our business. Now I’m excited about my additional role as CEO to steer the company toward our goals for growth and innovation into new markets, aligned with our company’s mission and longstanding reputation in the industry.”
Mr. Hunt began his consulting career at Deloitte becoming a Senior Manager at the firm. He joined Liberty Mutual in Boston in 1991, rising to Executive Vice President for Regional Agency Markets, responsible for $2.5 billion in premiums. Prior to that, Mr. Hunt held positions of Executive VP and Manager of Field Operations for Business Markets, VP and Director of Corporate Finance and M&A at Liberty.
In 2005, he co-founded Narragansett Bay Insurance Company in Rhode Island, also serving on the Board of Directors. Just prior to being named President of Ringler Associates in 2015, he served as Vice President of Mergers, Acquisitions and Business Development at Risk Placement Services a division of the international brokerage firm Arthur J.
