Brian Farrell was named Ringler’s Chairman after distinguished service on the Board and a career that began at Ringler in 2009. Brian owns and manages the Connecticut office of Ringler in Hartford, specializing in cases that involve general liability, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice and professional liability as a well-known structured settlement consultant. Brian has extensive experience in the property casualty claim industry in a number of claims handling and management positions, in both a home office and multiple field office settings, previously working at Travelers Insurance Company and Aetna Life and Casualty. He is a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA). He graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990. Brian and his wife Debbie have two children and live in Connecticut. Brian is an avid golfer and is also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Geoff Hunt serves as the President and CEO of Ringler. His experience in finance, management and the insurance industry spans over 30 years. Geoff began his consulting career at Deloitte, becoming a Senior Manager at the firm. He joined Liberty Mutual in Boston in 1991, rising to Executive Vice President for Regional Agency Markets and was responsible for $2.5 billion in premiums. Prior to that, Geoff held positions of Executive VP and Manager of Field Operations for Business Markets, VP and Director of Corporate Finance and M&A at Liberty. In 2005, he co-founded Narragansett Bay Insurance Company in Rhode Island and also served on the Board of Directors. Before being named President of Ringler in 2015, he served as Vice President of Mergers, Acquisitions and Business Development at Risk Placement Services, a division of the international brokerage firm Arthur J. Gallagher. Geoff is a Certified Public Accountant and received his Juris Doctor degree (JD) from Western New England School of Law and a Master of Laws degree (LLM) in Taxation from Boston University Law School. He also serves on various industry, community and philanthropic boards. When he’s not working, Geoff and his wife Brenda enjoy their home in Scituate, Massachusetts, spending time with their two adult children.
Cindy manages Ringler’s Louisville, Ky., and southern Indiana offices. As an advisor, Cindy markets, quotes and designs structured settlement plans that meet the unique needs of the injured. Cindy joined Ringler in 2003 as a Settlement Annuity Specialist (SAS) and became an advisor in 2007, managing the Louisville and southern Indiana offices. Prior to joining Ringler, Cindy was President of AEGON USA’s structured settlement business. During her 16-year tenure with AEGON, she was responsible for building the business from $400 million to $7 billion through marketing, sales and acquisitions. She managed sales, marketing, distribution and operations activities, which included new business, licensing, payment services and compliance. Cindy is married with three children and four grandchildren. She loves sports, especially football and basketball, attending games at the college and professional level in Kentucky and Indiana. She is actively involved in her church and loves hanging out with her grown sons and their families, especially her grandchildren.
Scott Hoover has been in the structured settlement industry for more than 22 years. He owns and operates the Ringler Orlando office. His accomplishments include receiving The Rookie of the Year award during his first year of associate production. He also received the prestigious Chairman’s Award, followed by The Producer of the Year in 2008. Scott was the Southern Division Manager for five years, 2004 to 2009. Scott has served on the Ringler Board of Directors since 2004. He specializes in the evaluation, negotiation and settlement of large physical injury claims, including medical malpractice, auto bodily injury, premise liability and workers’ compensation. In his free time, Scott enjoys art, theater, sporting events, golfing, travel and time with family and friends.
Peter is a veteran investment banker, strategic advisor and private equity investor in the insurance and asset management industries. Prior to joining Weiss, Peter was the Managing Principal and Founder of Floreat Advisory Partners, a strategic consulting firm focused on insurance companies and asset management. Previously, he served as Managing Director of Strategic Capital Markets at Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC., and has also been engaged in investment banking with Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc., where he specialized in global mergers and acquisitions and capital raising for insurance companies and investment management firms. In the course of his career, Peter has worked with the same client base at Banc of America Securities, Merrill Lynch & Co. and Credit Suisse First Boston and was engaged in private equity investing with Head & Co., LLC. Peter serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of the Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum. He also serves on the Board of the MacDowell Colony. Peter received a B.A. from Yale University and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. Peter also enjoys fly fishing, sailing, hunting, rowing, opera and classical music, art and loves to read.
Tony was elected to the Ringler Board of Directors in 2011. He has more than 22 years of experience in insurance, claims and structured settlements. He is experienced with all types of personal injury matters as well as taxable settlements for non-injury cases. Prior to joining Ringler, Tony worked for AON Risk Services and Travelers/Aetna. He has a B.A. in Marketing from the University of Oregon, with Minors in Finance and Management. Tony also serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Oregon Alumni Association and is the Chair of the Marketing Committee for the National Structured Settlements Trade Association.
Thomas is currently engaged as a consultant with the Executive Management Board and the President of Field Operations of QBE North America to improve distribution and create a culture of sales excellence. This includes guidance on distribution strategy, the development of a value proposition, organizational alignment and marketing and advertising. QBE is an international provider of insurance products and services. Before his position at QBE, Thomas was the President at USI Insurance Services from 2009 to 2011. From 1982 to 2009, Thomas worked at Liberty Mutual, eventually becoming the Executive Vice President of Field Operations, National Accounts. Thomas graduated from Colby College with his B.S. in Administrative Science and did post graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University.
Dawne is a finance and operations executive with over 20 years of experience forming, building and leading companies in the property casualty insurance and reinsurance industry. Dawne is currently a director in Marcum LLP’s Hartford office, a member of the firm’s Advisory Practices division and Insurance Industry Practice group. In 2007, Dawne co-founded SPARTA Insurance, an insurance company focused on the unbundled program market. As CFO, she was responsible for all financial aspects of the company. After selling the company to Catalina Holdings (Bermuda) Ltd., Dawne became CEO and President of SPARTA Insurance Company, as well as President of Catalina U.S. Insurance Services LLC, where she integrated the majority of Catalina’s U.S. companies into a single operating platform. Dawne worked from 1994 to 2006 at Discover Re, a venture capital funded company that served the Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) market, where she ultimately became CFO. Dawne started her career at PwC.
Bill leads the Atlanta-area office of Ringler and holds more than 20 years of experience in settlement planning, financial risk management and insurance. Prior to joining Ringler, he worked in Financial Risk Manager and Business Development with GE Capital. Bill assists the injured and their families with the design and implementation of comprehensive settlement plans. He provides consultations convenient for the client and attends all types of settlement forums. Bill received a B.S. in Business Administration from National University in San Diego and an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Bill serves on the Board of Trustees for the Risk Management Foundation at Georgia State University and on the CSSC/MCCS Committee of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association. He is married with two young sons and resides in Roswell, GA. Outside of work, his interests include golf, travel, Scouting and enjoying time with family.
